On February 11th, 2023, Gentai Financial Group, a leader in the Canadian financial industry, held its 10th Annual General Meeting at the Vancouver Convention Center. After holding two online annual meetings due to the epidemic, the tenth annual meeting this year was once again held in person. Accompanied by the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit, this annual meeting was attended by nearly 1,000 people, including the Gentai management team, colleagues, investors, family members, partners and media.
Gentai has been operating for more than 10 years with the current Asset Under Management of $400 MM, it has been sustainably brought the rate of return of 8.24% and 6.17% to the investors without failure. If the investors have been investing with Gentai of $100,000 from September 30, 2012 with compounded rate of return at 8.24% annually, to December 31, 2022, the total investment amount would reach $220,000, more than doubled. The fund has been steadily outperforming the S&P TSX Composite Index and the S&P Canada Aggregate Bond Index.
At the AGM, the President of Gentai, Tina Mu provided her warmest welcome to the investors and the business partners; the Managing Director of Gentai, Peter Yang announced the official launch of Gentai Commercial Mortgage fund (GCOM), Gentai’s newest fund.
The guest speaker, Bryan Yu, the Chief Economist from Central 1, provided the audience with the economic forecast for 2023.
Michael Yeung, Executive Vice President, Lending, and Sanj Westin, Chief Financial Officer, took the stage together and delivered a wonderful fireside chat. They spoke about the stable growth of Gentai’s flagship products, GMIC and GREF, over the past 10 years, and how they remained stable in the face of market adjustments. Based on Gentai’s unique syndicate experience, human capital and competitive advantage, the new Gentai Commercial Mortgage Fund (GCOM) will offer investors new investment options.
The AGM was also an evening to announce the recipient of Gentai’s 2023 Employee of the Year Award. Chief Compliance Officer, Alex Chung, was announced as the recipient of this year’s Employee of the Year Award. Alex said that he would continue to adhere to Gentai’s corporate culture of integrity, excellence, and passion.
