Condition Fulfillment Officer

About the Position

We are currently seeking a Condition Fulfillment Officer to assist us with our residential mortgages. Reporting to the Senior Underwriter, the Condition Fulfillment Officer assists with the underwriting and credit decision process, drives the growth through reviewing, analyzing, and assessing the borrower’s financial information and property evaluation following established policies and procedure to safeguard the Company’s investment. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of experience to work closely with a seasoned Senior Underwriter to grow their career.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors and maintains the mortgage application queue, accurately and in real time to ensure mortgage broker and borrower expectations and deadlines are met and service level agreements are achieved.
  • Follow up with brokers on issued mortgage commitments to ensure the efficient closing of mortgage files and request additional information where needed.
  • Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service while fielding mortgage broker inquiries and maintaining broker relationships.
  • Provide underwriting expertise to business development manager, mortgage brokers, and clients and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of company policies, procedures and products.
  • Provide liaison and support for funding department
  • Review all documentation sent from the broker to meet conditions found on the commitment
  • Follow up with brokers to request additional information when documentation received is not sufficient
  • Review and audit all files prior to advancing
  • Ensure all information in the file is consistent with information found in the system
  • Update information and make corrections where needed to ensure that it is 100% complete and accurate
  • Respond to all broker queries and requests and return calls and emails in a timely manner
  • Forward underwriting concerns or questions to the appropriate underwriter
  • Follow up on documentation immediately upon receipt where applicable
  • Ensure file notes are updated frequently to keep other departments aware of the relevant details of the file
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Team Leader/Manager, Residential Underwriting

Position Requirements:

  • Previous mortgage experience in the financial services industry (preferred alternative mortgage market)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (mainly MS Word and Excel)
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree preferably in financial field
  • Completion of sub mortgage broker exam and or FICOM license or willingness to complete the exam and register with FICOM by the end of 3 months
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Knowledge of credit/mortgage loan underwriting practices, risk analysis approach and appraisal process
  • Familiarity with mortgage process documents, i.e. Mortgage Statements, Purchase & Sale Agreement, T4A, T1, NOAs, Tax Bill, and Insurance Policy document, etc.
  • A self-starter with high attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and to perform well in a high volume, high intensity deadline driven environment
  • Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation Details

  • Full-Time, Permanent Position
  • Competitive Annual Salary and annual bonus program
  • Office-based position out of our Richmond location
  • Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm
