MARK ACHTEMICHUK

Mr. Achtemichuk, recently retired, was a Senior Vice President at CMLS Financial where he was chiefly responsible for corporate development matters and launching new business initiatives.  He was also responsible for technology solutions and lender services related businesses, having previously steered the early development of CMLS Financial’s proprietary software solutions group.

Mr. Achtemichuk spent the early part of his career with KPMG LLP in both Vancouver and Los Angeles, providing audit and M&A advisory services to private and publicly traded companies. He has also held a senior executive position with a Western Canadian real estate developer and has provided financial advisory services to a variety of public and private companies in the real estate and resource sectors through a consulting firm he established in 2007.

Mr. Achtemichuk is a Chartered Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.  He is also a Director of GreenPower Motor Company, a Nasdaq-listed electric vehicle manufacturer.

LORNE BURNS

Lorne is a seasoned professional with more than 35 years of experience, 25 years as an Audit Partner. He recently retired from KPMG after 39 years and is open to new opportunities.

From 2011 to 2021, Lorne led KPMG Canada’s Building, Construction & Real Estate Practice both Nationally and for Vancouver and he was a member of KPMG’s Global Real Estate Steering Group. Lorne specializes in serving REITs, real estate developers, hotels & hospitality and home builder clients. He has assisted numerous clients in raising equity through several public offerings and syndicated ownership structures.

During his tenure at KPMG, Lorne has played a variety of roles. Of note, he served as the Partner-in-Charge of Audit, GTA (6 years) and Chief Human Resources Office, Canada (4 years). While real estate has been his primary focus, Lorne has worked in Cleantech, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Energy and Publicly Traded Utilities.

With decades of experience auditing real estate clients across Canada, Lorne has an extensive network and in-depth knowledge of national and local real estate trends. He is a frequent speaker or moderator at real estate conferences.

Lorne is driven by serving others and derives particular enjoyment by being an active mentor and coach to younger people both within and outside KPMG. In recognition of his service to the community and the profession, Lorne was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2009.

BRUCE CLARKE

Bruce Clarke is an accomplished executive with over four decades of diverse experience in corporate, commercial and real estate financial services and real estate development. His career began at Mercantile Bank / National Bank of Canada, where he held various roles in both Vancouver and Toronto, including Assistant Vice President in Real Estate and Commercial Banking.

Bruce worked at HSBC Bank Canada for eighteen years where he held leadership roles in both origination and credit risk areas. This included six years as the Senior Vice President and National Head of Commercial Real Estate lending for Canada.

Bruce served as President of Peterson Group where he directed strategic planning and investment decision making and governance initiatives.  He was also Managing Partner at PenCor Capital Corp, overseeing the creation and management of a private investor commercial mortgage lending partnership.

He has a proven ability to develop strategic plans incorporating risk and return parameters and build relationships with senior executives, institutional investors, and pension funds. His governance experience includes board memberships and roles on Audit, Governance, Investment, and Risk Committees.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. Active in community service, Bruce has served on boards such as the Urban Development Institute of BC, the Pacific Salmon Foundation, the Vancouver Economic Development Commission and District of West Vancouver Advisory Finance Committee.

CYNTHIA LIM

Cynthia Lim is a seasoned executive with a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in business, and particularly, finance and the real estate industry.  As a retired executive and Partner at PCI Developments, Cynthia demonstrated proactive leadership in overseeing the company’s financial operations, IT, HR, corporate services, and policy administration.  Under her stewardship as the Chief Financial Officer and most recently the Chief Operations Officer, the company developed many notable transit-oriented, mixed-use developments in Metro Vancouver with private, public and institutional investors.

As a UBC Sauder School of Business alumni and a designated CPA, Cynthia is active in the community and shares her expertise with various volunteer endeavors.   In addition, Cynthia has been a dedicated advocate for advancing women in real estate.  She was a past director of Commercial Real Estate for Women (“CREW”) and participant in CREW’s mentorship program in providing guidance and support to emerging professionals.

Recognized for her contributions, she is the recipient of the 2021 lifetime achievement award from Association of Women in Finance and most recently, the 2023 Nominee of the CREW Catalyst Award.

BRYAN YU

Bryan Yu is a Vancouver-based economist recognized as an expert in macro- economics and housing market analysis. With 20 years of experience, he serves as a chief economist in the financial services sector, and as an economics and business advisor to industry executives.

Mr. Yu has appeared across regional and national news media and serves on several non-profit and industry boards in the region.
